Oriana is a French-Singaporean filmmaker and an MFA Candidate at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She has wanted to be a writer-director since the age of 14, after discovering Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro's movies.
Her passion for theatre and working with actors heavily influences her filmmaking. She studied acting part time at the Lee Strasberg Institute in order to understand the actor's process. She now teaches kids and teens Acting on Camera at the Young Adults Strasberg program there.
In addition, Oriana worked as a casting assistant and freelances as a casting director on short films. Prior to NYU, Oriana studied management with a focus on film business at HEC Paris. She worked in development, talent management, sales and international coproductions in Europe and L.A..
Her films have screened in film festivals around the world, notably at the Dallas International Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival, Brisbane International Film Festival, the Barbados Independent Film Festival and Dances with Films.
Oriana made her theatre directing debut earlier this year with the short play The Cocktail Bench, written by John Harney. She’s about to maker her playwriting debut with the one-act play “Eclipse” at the Chain Theatre, opening July 16th.
